Best-practice project: 205 old PVC windows recycled in Chemnitz

In Chemnitz, a total of 205 old PVC windows are currently being replaced with new thermally insulated PVC windows with triple glazing as part of a façade renovation project at a residential centre run by the Workers' Samaritan Federation (ASB). However, the removed PVC windows are not simply disposed of afterwards, but collected, recycled at VEKA Umwelttechnik in Thuringia and later reused as a secondary raw material for the extrusion of new PVC window profiles.

The current project in Chemnitz is another project that has qualified for the "Best Practice for the Environment" campaign. As part of this campaign, sustainable construction projects in Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia will be documented until the end of the year in which PVC construction products are recycled at the end of their useful life. AGPU, Rewindo and AgPR are partners in the best-practice project.
