20 years of Rewindo

Rewindo GmbH turns 20 this summer. The nationwide recycling system was initiated in 2002 by leading German plastic window profile manufacturers during the Fensterbau Frontale trade fair in Nuremberg and then finally officially founded in Bonn in July of the same year.

Within these two decades, he says, it has been possible to increase the annual recycling quantities from PVC old windows from 4,500 at the time to 42,500 tonnes in 2021. "That is an increase of over 800 percent," says Michael Vetter, who has been Rewindo's managing director since the company was founded.

The main reasons for this success are the constant expansion of the recycling system, the continuous extension of the network and the networking with European recycling structures.
