Destatis: Recycling rate increased in 2016
The waste recycling rate in Germany increased in 2016. This is the result of the "Waste Balance 2016" recently published by the Federal Statistical Office. According to this, of the total waste produced in Germany (411.5 million tonnes), around 44.4 million tonnes were recycled for energy and 287.6 million tonnes for materials.
