Whether oxygen mask, infusion bag or nasal probe: no plastic is used as frequently in the health sector as PVC. However, many of these products can only be used once and then have to be disposed of. And this is exactly where the new VinylPlus® Med recycling programme comes in, because PVC products can be recycled very well due to their properties in order to make new PVC products from them again. This is also possible for medical products.
A pilot project in Belgium last week laid the foundation for the new recycling programme. If successful, the programme will be expanded to other EU countries.
