The old health centre in Primnitz is currently being demolished. Until the fall of communism, the six-storey building, built in 1972, served as a polyclinic for the local chemical fibre factory and once housed 14 medical departments. In 1990, the city took over the facility and established a health centre there. After a new medical centre was built two years ago, the building stood empty and is now being selectively deconstructed. In the course of this, among other things, more than 200 used plastic windows were removed and recycled - a procedure that is now also practised in many other construction projects throughout Germany.<\/p>\n
Recycling volumes have risen steadily in recent years. In 2018, Rewindo was able to recover more than 33,000 tonnes of PVC regranulate together with its recycling partners. This corresponds to the material output of around two million recycled old windows. Across Europe, a total of 900,000 tonnes of PVC are to be recycled annually by 2025 as part of the VinylPlus voluntary commitment.
