Rewindo: Positive turnaround in recycling figures

The temporary stagnation in recycling volumes for old PVC windows, doors and roller shutters appears to have been overcome for the time being. This is indicated by the Conversio study recently published by Rewindo GmbH Fenster-Recycling-Service, Bonn, for the past year 2024. After a moderate decline in 2023 due to the economic situation, the figures have risen slightly again for the first time, reaching roughly the same level as in 2022.

The recycling volume for old PVC windows and similar products in Germany increased by around 2.5 per cent compared to 2023. Compared to the previous year, the Rewindo system saw an increase of 1,109 tonnes to 44,109 tonnes (post-consumer). Documentation was provided by Recovinyl (RecoTrace database). A total of 86,973 tonnes of production and processing waste was sent for mechanical recycling.

The recycling rate for old PVC windows reached a peak value of 87 per cent of the collectable and available quantity. At the same time, the reuse of recyclates by Rewindo shareholders has continued to increase.https://rewindo.de/rewindo-registriert-positive-trendwende-bei-den-recyclingzahlen/
