floorings
The PVC Floor Covering Recycling Working Group (AgPR) has ceased its activities as of 31 December 2024 and would like to thank all customers and partners for their support to date. AgPR was founded in 1990 to promote the sustainable recycling of PVC floor coverings.
The flooring manufacturer Gerflor took over the AgPR recycling plant in Troisdorf at the turn of the year and will use it as part of its own "Second Life" recycling programmewill continue. According to the company, the takeover of the plant will expand the manufacturer's existing recycling activities and further strengthen the Gerflor Group's commitment to the circular economy.
The Gerflor "Second Life" programme is currently active in ten European countries (Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden).
The flooring manufacturer intends to contribute its many years of expertise in the field of flooring recycling to the facility in Troisdorf and redesign and modernise the business on site.
Plastic windows
Since mid-2002, the Rewindo GmbH together with its recycling partners, organises the recycling of disused PVC windows, roller shutters and doors. The initiative operates a nationwide collection system for this purpose. In addition, there are a large number of regional collection centres for even the smallest quantities.
In modern recycling plants, regranulate is obtained from the old products, a high-quality raw material of equal value to new material, which is reused in the manufacture of new window and building profiles.
PVC recycling rates are rising continuously.

Pipes
The member companies of the Plastic Pipe Association (KRV)have been making their contribution to sustainable, resource-conserving management and production through material recycling for many years. Since the mid-1990s, plastic pipe remnants (dismantling of old pipes or remnants of pipe cuttings) have been processed into secondary raw materials for the manufacture of new pipes and other products.
Together with many other partners and institutions, the KRV promotes material recycling and the circular economy in the plastics processing industry. Manufacturers of plastic pipes who pledge their active support to the association in the collection and reuse of plastic pipe waste bear the KRV recycling logo.
